Shadowrocket App Store Purchase Guide: Find and Verify the Official App

Learn how to find Shadowrocket in the App Store, verify the developer, official icon, and app ID 932747118, then purchase and install it.

At a Glance

This guide is for iPhone and iPad users buying Shadowrocket for the first time. First, verify the app and check device compatibility in the App Store; then purchase and install it. Finally, understand the difference between the app purchase, system VPN permission, and your existing subscription. Start by testing a manual connection, then adjust Global Routing and On Demand once it works.

Before You Buy: Verify the App and Understand the Costs

Shadowrocket is a paid client for Apple platforms, available exclusively through the App Store. It is a closed-source commercial app sold as a one-time purchase. Check the App Store listing for the current price, taxes, Universal Purchase availability, and system requirements. It is primarily used on iPhone and iPad; check the listing’s compatibility details for Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision rather than assuming it works on every device linked to the same account.

Don’t identify the app by search ranking or the nickname “Shadowrocket” alone. Open the product page and verify the app name, developer, official icon, and app ID together. The app ID is the numeric identifier in the product page URL, not a payment order number or software version.

Find, Verify, and Install Shadowrocket in the App Store

Open the App Store on the device you plan to use, and check which Apple Account is signed in for Media & Purchases. Search results can vary based on the storefront region and device compatibility. If you can’t find the app, use this site’s official app verification page to open the correct listing instead of guessing from similar names.

  1. Find the app

Open App Store → Search and enter the full name Shadowrocket. Open the product page; don’t rely on the icon in the results list alone to confirm the purchase.

  2. Verify the app

Check that the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited and that the icon matches the official one. If you opened the listing through this site’s verification page, its URL should contain id932747118.

  3. Check compatibility

Review the compatibility section and check your device and OS version against the listing. System requirements are as shown on the App Store page. If the listing says your device is incompatible, resolve that first.

  4. Confirm the purchase

Tap the price button on the product page. Review Apple’s purchase confirmation, including the app name, price, and account, then authenticate as prompted.

  5. Wait for installation

Keep your device connected to the internet while the App Store downloads and installs the app. Open it once the button changes to “Open.” A progress indicator means installation is still underway.

  6. Open the app

Launch Shadowrocket and confirm that Home opens. An empty server list or no subscription record does not mean installation failed; installing the app and adding connection details are separate steps.

Already Purchased but Still Seeing a Price? Check Your Account and Installation

Reinstall from the App Store’s Purchased list or the original product page. The iCloud account signed in on your device may differ from the account used for Media & Purchases in the App Store. Check the account that actually completed the purchase. A price button does not automatically mean you need to pay again.

If the product page says the app isn’t available in your current storefront, rely on the listing shown for that account. Don’t treat missing search results, a failed payment, and device incompatibility as the same issue: check the listing and storefront status, follow Apple’s payment guidance, or review your device and system requirements, as appropriate.

First Launch: Add Your Existing Subscription and Authorize the Connection

After installation, have your own subscription link ready. It may contain access credentials, so don’t include it in screenshots, public notes, or support requests. App purchase credentials, your Apple Account password, and a subscription link serve different purposes and should never be entered in the same field.

  1. Add a Subscribe profile: On Home, tap + in the upper-right corner to open the add screen. Select Subscribe under Type, enter your existing subscription link in URL, choose a recognizable name, and save.
  2. Fetch subscription details: Return to Home and update the subscription you just added. Check whether server entries appear. Saving the link only adds the subscription source; a successful update that returns entries means the data was retrieved and parsed.
  3. Select an existing entry: On Home, select one of your existing server entries. If the subscription is empty, check the link, subscription status, and network access; you don’t need to buy the app again.
  4. Authorize the VPN configuration: When you connect for the first time, the system will ask to add a VPN configuration. Make sure the prompt was triggered by your action, then follow the instructions to authorize it. Your device may ask for a passcode or biometric authentication.
  5. Test a real request: Open a website you normally use and check whether it loads. Review the connection log alongside the result. A VPN status indicator doesn’t confirm that a subscription is valid or that every destination is reachable.

Use Home to select connection entries and control the connection, Config to manage configuration files, and Settings to adjust app preferences. On first use, verify one connection before changing rules or automatic connection conditions. Changing several options at once makes it harder to identify what affected the result.

Global Routing: Understand the Three Common Modes Before Changing Settings

Global Routing controls how traffic is handled; it does not indicate purchase status. Changing it won’t extend a subscription or resolve an account payment issue. The options below are three common modes in Shadowrocket. Using Config assumes you have selected and reviewed a suitable configuration; it does not mean every default rule will behave as expected.

Config

Recommended

Applies the rules in the currently selected configuration. Each matching rule determines the action, which may be DIRECT, a proxy, or another defined policy. Unmatched requests depend on the fallback rule.

Best for: Everyday rule-based traffic handling with a reviewed configuration

Proxy

Routes traffic through a proxy, which can help you compare results with Config. If only some destinations behave differently after switching, check which rules match rather than assuming all connection details are valid.

Best for: Temporarily checking whether rules affect requests when you already have a working connection

Direct

Routes traffic directly. Even with the connection switch on, requests are not necessarily using the selected server. Note your current Global Routing option before testing.

Best for: Comparing results with direct access on your local network

In Config, DOMAIN-SUFFIX matches domain suffixes, IP-CIDR matches IP ranges, GEOIP applies geographic IP conditions, and FINAL provides a fallback. Rules are generally evaluated in order, so “using Config” does not simply mean direct connections in mainland China and proxy connections elsewhere. For more on selecting configurations and how rules work, see the subscription guide.

App Purchase and Installation FAQs

The app opens to an empty screen after purchase. Did the purchase fail?

First, confirm the App Store product page shows “Open” and that the app opens to Home. An empty list usually means you haven’t added connection details yet. Go to Home → + → Type → Subscribe to add your existing subscription, then check the update result. Buying the app does not create server entries.

I bought it on iPhone. Do I need to buy it again for iPad?

On your iPad, check the Apple Account used for Media & Purchases in the App Store, then look for the same app in Purchased. Universal Purchase availability and device compatibility are as stated on the App Store page. If you still see a price, check your purchase history; don’t pay again just because the same iCloud account is signed in on both devices.

The system asks to add a VPN configuration. Should I allow it?

If the prompt appears right after you start a connection in Shadowrocket, verify the app source and follow the system steps to authorize it. This allows the app to create a VPN configuration; it is not another purchase and does not verify your subscription. If your device is managed by an organization, check its device management policies first.

It says connected, but websites won’t load. What should I do?

Note your current Global Routing option, then check the selected server, subscription update results, and your Wi-Fi or cellular connection. Test the same website and change one condition at a time. If the issue occurs only with Config, review the relevant rules and configuration. For more targeted checks, see Troubleshooting.

Installation is complete when the App Store has delivered the app and it opens successfully. Connection setup is complete when your existing details have been imported, system authorization is granted, and requests behave as expected. Checking these stages separately helps prevent an expired subscription, rule selection, or local network issue from being mistaken for a failed purchase.
